      Hoyo de Monterrey is a legendary Cuban marque, however, since the early 1970's, this brand has been crafted in Honduras by Villazon's master maker, Estelo Padrón, and it has become a legend in its own right. Beginning with tobacco seeds smuggled out of Cuba in a diplomatic pouch, this was the first true Habana-style cigar made outside of Cuba. For three plus decades, this full-flavored, earthy smoke has been the cigar of choice for those who crave old-world-style Habanas.

      The Dark Sumatra series from Hoyo de Monterrey is a robust and rich cigar - even fuller in body than the original Hoyo de Monterrey. Blended by Estelo Padron, its deep, rich wrapper is striking and aesthetically pleasing, while the the taste is satisfying and complex. This Honduran beauty is made with a dark Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Connecticut broadleaf binder, and long-filler blend of Honduran, Nicaraguan, and Piloto Cubano leaves.

      Hoyo de Tradición cigars were created to honor the history of Hoyo de Monterrey, one of the oldest and most respected brands to date. An aged, hand-selected blend of Honduran San Agustin, Dominican Piloto Cubano and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos from the remote island of Ometepe is paired with a robust Habano leaf Connecticut binder and finished with an attractive, oily, Viso Rosado wrapper from the Jamastran Valley of Honduras. The result is a pleasurable, aromatic smoke overflowing with hearty, rich flavors and undertones of nuts and sweetness.
